Llibre Primer modifica

(en anglès) I don't know half of you as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you as well as you deserve.[2]
   — Bilbo Saquet

(en anglès) One Ring to rule all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.[2]
(en anglès) Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement. for even the very wise cannot see all ends.[2]
(en anglès) Hobbits really are amazing creatures, as I have said before. You can learn all that there is to konw about their ways ina a month, and yer after a hundred years they can still surprise you at a pinch.[2]
(en anglès) All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.
   — Gàndalf

Capítol 3. Tres fan companyia.

(en anglès) "It's a dangerous business, Frodo.going out of your door", he used to say. "You step into the Road, and if you don't keep your feet, there is no knowimg where you might be swept off to".[2]
   — Bilbo
(en anglès) But it is said: Don not meddle in the affairs of Wizards, for they are subtle and quick to anger.[2]

(en anglès) I am Aragorn son of Arathorn; and if by life or death I can save you, I will.[2]
   — Gambús

Llibre Segon modifica

(en anglès) All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strng does not wither, Deep roots are not reached bay the frost.[2]
   — Bilbo Saquet
(en anglès) From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken: The crownless again shall be king.[2]
   — Bilbo Saquet
(en anglès) 'I will take the ring,' he said, 'though I do not know the way'.[2]
   — Frodo
(en anglès) 'But it is a heavy burden. So heavy that none could lay it on another. I do not lay it on you. But if you take it freely, I will say that your choice ir right;...'.[2]

(en anglès) 'What other fairer way would you desire'.[2]
   — Àragorn

Capítol 7. El mirall de Na Galàdriel.

  • No parleu malament de la senyora Galàdriel! —va dir l'Àragorn en to greu—.
(en anglès) 'Speak no evil of the Lady Galadriel!' said Aragorn sternly.'You know not what you sat. There is in her and in this land no evil, unless a man bring it hither himself. Then let him beware!'.[2]
(en anglès) 'But the Mirror will also show things unbidden, and those are often stranger and more profitable than things which we wish to behold. What you will see, if you leave the Mirror free to work, I cannot tell. For it shows things that were, and things that are, and things that yet may be. But which it is that he sees, even the wisest cannot alwats tell.[2]

(en anglès) 'He is the Bearer, and the fate of the Burden is on him. I do not thing that it is our part to drive him one way or the orther. Nor do I think that we should suceed, if we tried. There are other powers at work far stronger'.[2]
   — Àragorn
